Brown Sugar Glazed Ham with Pineapple Recipe

Food, Recipes / Friday, December 26th, 2014

For Christmas this year, I baked a brown sugar glazed ham for my family, and it came out amazing!

I wanted to share this simple recipe with everyone — I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Pound Smoked Ham
  • 2 Cups of Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup of White Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons of Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Cup of Orange Juice
  • 2 Cans of Sliced Pineapples

Directions:

Before getting started, I like to boil the ham to remove any excess salt. Next, you will mix together the dark brown sugar, white sugar, yellow mustard, garlic powder, orange juice, and pineapple juice. Once the ingredients have been mixed, you can begin glazing your ham.

You may want to score the ham to ensure that the marinade is well absorbed before glazing. You can also poke small holes with a knife or fork. Pour and rub half of the glaze over your ham. Make sure that the entire ham is coated well. Cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 300 degrees F, for about 4-5 hours. Be sure to baste the ham every hour with the remainder of the glaze. At the last hour, remove the aluminum foil so that the ham will have a nice golden, slightly crispy look on the outside. Lastly, cover the ham with pineapples. Place a few directly on the ham and a few in the marinade.

Once the last hour is up, remove your ham and continue to baste it with the marinade from the bottom of your tray.
And VOILA! You have a delectable, mouthwatering glazed ham.

Bon Appètit!
